We build the system, then we run it.

A studio for companies that need custom systems built, deployed and operated. Not a repo handed over at the end.

Running right now, not on a roadmap

Everything below is live on our own infrastructure as you read this page.

24/7 A line answering for a working business, every hour
25 Services we operate on our own metal
8 Of those, serving one live client
1 Number you can call to check it yourself

We take the work that has to run unattended

Customer-facing systems, internal tooling, and integrations between things that were never meant to talk to each other. Real state, real failure modes, and an audit trail for the moment somebody asks what happened.

Systems that act on their own

Software that behaves correctly at 3am

Live telephony, scheduled work, queues, and anything that has to make a decision with nobody watching. Built with an explicit answer for every path that fails, because the unattended hours are where most software quietly stops working.

Platform

Multi-tenant platforms

Per account isolation, scoped credentials, and reporting people actually open.

A completed conversation in the front-desk system beside the structured lead record it produced.

Work ends in a record

If a system cannot show what it did and why, it did not really run.

Deployment and operations

We hold the pager

Deployment, monitoring, backups and rollback are part of the build, not a separate engagement. If it breaks at 2am it is our problem, and we write down what happened.

How an engagement runs

Four movements. Most studios stop after the third one, which is exactly where the cost of owning software begins.

Scope

Written before it is priced

We map the process, name the failure paths, and put it in writing. That document is the quote.

Build

Against your real data

Working software in front of you early, tested on the messy cases rather than the happy path.

Deploy

Into your accounts

Your infrastructure, your credentials, your ownership. Rollback exists before launch does.

Operate

We keep running it

Monitoring, incidents and changes stay with us for as long as you want them to.

Every system gets drawn before it gets built

The drawing has to include the paths that only run when something breaks, because those are the ones nobody tests. Here is one of ours, the front-desk system we operate, end to end.

Caller any hour Your number rings you first The desk answers in about a second Record structured, stored You lead in hand You answered nothing else runs inbound no answer captured alert picked up urgent, rings you directly carrier fallback if the desk is down
Two of those paths exist only for failure. Urgent callers skip the record and ring you directly, and if the desk itself goes down the carrier routes the call to your phone. A visitor who never sees the system working should still end up talking to you.

Blue Ridge Front Desk

Our own product line, built to prove the model before selling it. It answers the phone for a working paving company in Murphy, North Carolina, captures the job details, and puts the lead in the owner's hand before the caller tries the next number.

You can audit that claim. The number is the live line. Call it and you will hear exactly what a customer hears.

How we work, and why it is not the usual arrangement

We run it before we sell it

Every system we offer runs in our own business first, against real traffic, with real money and reputation attached. A product that has never been operated is a prototype wearing a price tag.

That is why the front-desk product answers a real family business rather than a demo account. The failure modes found us before they could find a client.

Evidence over assertion

Claims get a number, and numbers get a source. We instrument what we ship so performance is measured rather than asserted, and we keep the record when a system gets something wrong.

A reviewer reads transcripts from the live line and logs every miss into a change log. A near miss nobody writes down is a policy nobody has.

Built to degrade, not to break

Anything customer facing has an answer to the question of what happens when it fails. Calls fall back to ringing a human. Enhancements are additive, so a browser that cannot run them still gets a complete page.

A failure should leave you exactly where you were before us, never worse.

You own the result

Your numbers, your data, your accounts. We build so that you can leave, because a system you cannot exit is leverage against you rather than an asset.

What we will not do

The fastest way to judge a firm is what it declines.

We will not quote before we understand the system Pricing work nobody has scoped is how projects fail halfway. We scope first, in writing, and the scope is the quote.
We will not take a project we cannot operate If we cannot run it, we cannot stand behind it. We would rather refer the work than ship something we will not be there to fix.
We will not claim a capability we have not shipped Everything described on this page is running in production today. When something is planned rather than built, we say planned.
We will not lock you in No proprietary format holding your data, and no contract designed to make leaving expensive.

Tell us what should be working and is not

Bring the process that keeps failing, the one nobody has time to fix. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth building, what it would cost to run, and when the answer is to buy something instead.
